Its non other than Reuters that claims that an unreleased version of the Apple iPad with a front facing camera was spotted yesterday at the launch of ‘The Daily’, a newspaper for the iPad. In their own words:
A Reuters eyewitness saw what appeared to be a working model of the next iPad with a front-facing camera at the top edge of the glass screen at a press conference to mark the debut of News Corp’s Daily online paper in New York on Wednesday.
Apple iPad is coming under heavy competition fire with Google showing off a lot of Honeycomb at its conference yesterday. The Motorola Xoom and a bunch of other tablets running Android 3.0 would be out in coming months and a lot of them before the Apple iPad 2. Even HP is scheduled to show off its WebOS tablet next week and that only adds competition for the tablet market which is currently being ruled by Apple with 14.8 million units sold last year.
Now whoever this eyewitness was, they sure don’t have a photography and the only detail mentioned here is a front facing camera, which is kinda no brainer for the 2nd gen Apple iPad. What we are more eager to know is the software bits of the new iPad / future iPhones.
Anyways, we sure know that its out there and waiting for someone to just get a few pictures on the web!
